Concord street sweeping reduced to once a month
Starting the week of July 20, Concord's residential streets will be swept once a month instead of twice a month. The reduction is one of several cost-saving measures approved by the City Council when it passed the City's 2009-2010 budget that went into effect July 1.
The day of the week street sweeping occurs will not change. Residential streets currently swept on the first and third week of the month will be swept once a month in either the first or third week. Residential streets currently swept on the second and fourth week of the month will be swept once a month in either the second or fourth week.
The new schedule for each street is online at www.cityofconcord.org/streetsweeping.
There is no change for arterial and industrial streets which will continue to be swept once a month.
The new street sweeping schedule is expected to save the City $140,000 over the next year in labor, fuel, vehicle, and supply costs. For more information, contact Senior Administrative Analyst Jeff Roubal, (925) 671-3394, email jeff.roubal@ci.concord.ca.us
