Concord offices closed for November holidays, furlough day
City of Concord offices will be closed on Nov. 11 for Veteran's Day, Nov. 25 for a furlough day and Nov. 26 and 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The unpaid furlough day is part of the City's comprehensive plan to balance its General Fund budget. Employees are taking 13 unpaid furlough days in the 2009-10 fiscal year to achieve the equivalent of a five-percent pay cut.
Offices to be closed for the holidays and the furlough day include the Civic Center complex (1950 Parkside Drive), Public Works (1455 Gasoline Alley), Engineering (2151 Salvio St.), the Concord Senior Center (2727 Parkside Circle), Centre Concord (5298 Clayton Rd.), the Police Southern District Office (1500 Monument Blvd., #17), and Police Headquarters (1350 Galindo St.). Police patrol and dispatch operations will not be affected by the closures.
Willow Pass Community Center (2748 East Olivera Rd.) will be closed except for evening classes Nov. 25.
Concord Community Pool (3501 Cowell Road) will be open holiday hours from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Nov. 11 and Nov. 27, and will be closed Nov. 25 and 26.
Diablo Creek Golf Course will remain open, but will close at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.
Additional furlough days are scheduled on Dec. 24, Dec. 28-31, Jan. 15, March 12, April 9 and May 7.
