Concord offers beginner's monoprint course
Concord Community and Recreation Services offers Lucille Mercado's beginners printingmaking class on Wednesday evenings, Feb. 3 to 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Centre Concord, 5298 Clayton Rd.
Anyone who wants to create unique impressions will be able to explore this basic monoprint technique by applying and rubbing ink onto plexiglass plates.
"It's easy and fun to experiment with found material to create texture, patterns, line work, and shadows without using a printing press," said Mercado. The instructor will demonstrate various ways to manipulate ink onto plate, show design samples, and critique art work. This is an experimental hands-on workshop.
