Appointments announced to City of Concord advisory commission, boards
At its meeting on March 9, the Concord City Council made appointments to the Planning Commission, Design Review Board and Personnel Board.
Planning Commission incumbent Gene Sylls and resident John Mercurio were appointed for a two-year term ending February 28, 2012. The Planning Commission develops and maintains the General Plan of the Concord planning area, makes recommendations to the City Council regarding proposed General Plan amendments and municipal code modifications, and reviews planned district developments, tentative subdivision maps, and use permit applications. Design Review Board incumbents Ernesto A. Avila and Jack Moore were reappointed for two-year terms ending February 28, 2012. Board members review the design of each improvement for which a building permit, certificate, or other approval is required and any matter referred to the Board by the Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator or Planning Manager. Personnel Board incumbents Randall E. Horton and Christie A. Turner were reappointed for two-year terms ending February 28, 2012. The Personnel Board receives and hears appeals and grievances, conducts hearings, and acts in an advisory capacity to the Council on personnel matters.
