Annual recruitment for Concord board and commissions
At its May 11 meeting, the Concord City Council announced the opening of the annual recruitment for three commissions and one board.
Applicants are sought to fill four openings on the Commission on Aging, four openings on the Community Services Commission and three openings on the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission for three-year terms ending June 30, 2013.
The Council also announced the recruitment to fill two unscheduled vacancies on the Appeals Board with a term ending February 28, 2011.
The deadline for applications is Friday, June 25 at 5 p.m.
Commission on Aging members act as a resource to identify, improve, and develop services and opportunities for senior citizens in Concord. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle.
Community Services Commission members advise the City Council on the distribution of a variety of grant funds to local non-profits. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive.
Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission members advise the City Council on matters pertaining to public parks, open space, and recreation. The commission meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Civic Centre, 1950 Parkside Drive.
Members of the Appeals Board hear appeals of orders, decisions, interpretations and determinations made by the City Building Official. Meetings are held on an infrequent basis.
