Concord selects mayor, vice mayor for 2012
At the Tuesday, Dec. 6 Concord City Council meeting, Vice Mayor Ron Leone was selected by fellow Councilmembers to serve as mayor for 2012. Leone was elected to the City Council in 2010. Before being elected to the City Council, he served 35 years in education as a high school teacher and principal.
Councilmember Bill Shinn, first elected in 2004 and reelected in 2008, was chosen to be the Vice Mayor. Councilmember Dan Helix will chair the Redevelopment Agency Board and Councilmember Tim Grayson will serve as vice chair.
Outgoing Mayor Laura Hoffmeister presented long-time community advocate Mary Lou Laubscher with the Mayor's Community Service Award.
