John Muir Health makes presentation to Concord City Council

Mike Thomas, President and Chief Administrative Officer of John Muir Medical Center, Concord and Diana Camacho, Program Director, Community Health Improvement, will make a presentation before the Concord City Council at its meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive.

The presentation will include a report on the John Muir Health Community Benefit program. Some of the signature programs supported by John Muir Health include a mobile health clinic, specialty care programs, breast cancer screenings and nurses at local elementary schools.

John Muir Medical Center, Concord has 2,500 employees at its state-of-the-art facility. The center underwent a $212 million renovation in 2010 when it opened the new cardiovascular institute. The center is nationally recognized, and has earned the highest honors for nursing quality and excellence.

The City Council meeting and the John Muir presentation will be televised on Concord Cable TV channel 28 (Comcast), 29 (Astound) and 99 (AT&T U-verse).
