Nominate Concord to win $20K during 'Meet Me at the Park' campaign

This month, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is collaborating with The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Citizenship, Disney|ABC Television Group and ESPN, to revitalize parks across the U.S. for a third year through the Meet Me at the Park campaign.

From now until April 30, residents have the opportunity to nominate Concord to receive $20,000 in grant funding to make improvements at a local park by visiting

At the end of April, the city with the most nominations will receive the grant. New this year, everyone who nominates a city will be entered into a drawing for a tablet outfitted for the outdoors.

Local parks make Concord a better place to live and shape so many lives. Parks are essential to residents' health and well-being. They provide safe places to be active and enjoy nature-and they help preserve the environment and bring people together.

"The City of Concord is the proud home to 27 parks and playfields, 379 acres of developed parkland and 1,080 acres of open space. As Concord moves forward to provide additional amenities at many of our parks, we invite each of our residents to take advantage of the many athletic fields, playgrounds, waterways, butterfly gardens and recreation trails. Take your families for a visit to any of our local neighborhood parks and vote for the City of Concord during this Meet Me at the Park campaign," said Concord Program Coordinator Shannon Griffin.
