Concord's vehicle fleet one of best in USA

Government Fleet Magazine and the American Public Works Association have selected the City of Concord Public Works Fleet Division as one of the "50 Leading Fleets" in America for 2017. Winners are featured in Government Fleet Magazine's July special awards issue.

To earn the award, the City of Concord met or exceeded national criteria in all 26 categories considered, such as staff leadership, ensuring competitiveness and efficiency, creating a future vision and overcoming challenges.

The City's fleet of 265 vehicles and equipment is repaired and maintained by a five-member crew and comprises a wide variety of units, including police cars, electric and gas-powered automobiles, street sweepers, dump trucks, sewer cleaning trucks, cargo trailers, commercial mowers, aerial boom trucks, paving equipment, backhoes, and tree chippers.

"Fleet vehicles and equipment are critical to providing the services that the Concord community expects and deserves. Our vehicles support public safety, building inspection, sewer repair, and road, parks and traffic signal maintenance," says Fleet Manager Jeff Roubal. "Our crew members also provide vehicle repair and maintenance services to other government agencies too small to have their own. Recognition by our peers is a great honor. Our team is passionate about providing excellent service. We strive to do our very best day in and day out because so many people depend on us."
