Become a resource in an emergency through CERT training

Sign-ups are now being taken for free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training offered by the City of Concord. The sessions are held on Thursday evenings from Sept. 14 to Oct. 19 at the Concord Police Department, 1350 Galindo St., starting at 6:30 p.m.

CERT participants are taught by emergency personnel in basic fire safety, disaster preparedness, first aid, and search and rescue. Through training, CERT members learn how to protect themselves, their families and neighbors in a disaster situation, especially when it may take days for emergency responders to arrive in the area. Through training, CERT members become valuable resources to their families and neighbors in the event of an emergency.

For more information or to sign up for CERT training, visit www.ConcordCERT.org or call (925) 603-5933.
