Business Activity

Auto Dealerships

Auto DealershipsMany of Concord's new auto dealerships are top performers in the lines they represent.  As a result, several of these dealerships are remodeling and/or expanding.  In addition to the Lehmer's Pontiac/GMC dealership relocation to Market Street, Fitzpatrick Chevrolet-Buick-Hummer is building a 5,000- square-foot showroom for its Hummer line, Concord Toyota Scion completed construction on a new state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot dealership/service facility, and Future Ford of Concord has also just completed a major renovation/expansion of its facility.

T-Mobile

This wireless communications leader- providing voice, text-messaging and high-speed wireless data services- recently leased 33,000 square feet in the Gateway II Tower at 1855 Gateway Boulevard. The new space will serve as T-Mobile's Northern California headquarters. T-Mobile anticipates hiring approximately 100 new employees to work in Concord. This is in addition to their workforce at their other Concord location on Bisso Lane. Most new employees will hold engineering-related positions.

Stedim, Inc

The world's leading designer and manufacturer of single-use, sterile plastic-bag systems for the biotechnology industry, Stedim boasts such customers as Bayer Group, Genentech, Biogen and Amgen. Concord is the company's North American headquarters for manufacturing, marketing and sales. In 2003, Stedim added 20,000 square feet to its lab and office space, creating a 60,000 square-foot facility. The company plans to triple its clean-room manufacturing space by the end of 2005 as well as hire an additional 20 employees to bring their Concord employee base to 100.

Heritage Square

Heritage SquareLocated at Concord Avenue and John Glenn Drive, Heritage Square has added a number of new tenants, including Trader Joe's, California Closets and Starbucks. This exciting mix of retailers complements Anderson's TV and two prominent furniture stores, Levitz and Drexel Heritage. Additionally, interior construction is almost complete for Paradise 33, a Vietnamese restaurant replacing the former Peppermill restaurant.

Willows Shopping Center

Willows Shopping CenterThis successful 253,000-square-foot regional center at 1975 Diamond Boulevard is home to ten specialty retail and apparel shops, eight eateries, three entertainment venues and three service stores. The Willows offers an inviting shopping environment, which continues to attract new tenants, including Jamba Juice and Pasta Roma. Panera Bread bakery café anticipates opening here by the fall of 2005.
