Building Permits

Online Permits and Permit History Information

In addition to a Permit center, Concord now offers contractors the opportunity to use an online permit system for simple permits that do not require plan reviews such as installing water heaters, furnaces, waterlines, electric service replacements, sub-panels and much more. Contractors will have the ability to schedule inspections for the online permits and verify the status of inspections. The ability to receive permits online means you can pull a permit at your convenience. Contractors must register online, have a valid credit card, and have current business and contractor's licenses to use this service. Instructions on how to use the online permit service are available online or by calling (925) 671-3107.

Information on all permits issued for a property is now available online. You do not need to be a contractor or register to use this portion of the online permits system. The information available through this service may need to be further verified and should not be used in legal or monetary decision making.

Permit Requirements

Most building, demolition and home improvement projects require a building permit. It is the responsibility of the homeowner and/or contractor to ensure that permits are received prior to beginning the work. The cost of the permit varies based on the type of work that is being completed.

Information to assist in preparing to apply for a permit is listed at right.
