New Building Codes Effective January 1, 2008*
The California Building Standards Commission completed the adoption and approval of new building codes for the State of California. Every City within the State is mandated to adopt and enforce these new codes.
The new codes vary greatly from the current Uniform Building Code.
The codes below will be effective in the City of Concord on January 1, 2008.

2007 California Building Code
(Building Standards adopted by the Commission for the 2007 California Building Code (Part 2 of Title 24), Based on the 2006 International Building Code (IBC).
2007 California Electrical Code
(Building Standards adopted by the Commission for the 2007 California Building Code (Part 3 of Title 24), Based on the 2005 National Electrical Code (NEC).
2007 California Mechanical Code
(Building Standards adopted by the Commission for the 2007 California Mechanical Code (Part 4 of Title 24), Based on the 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC).
2007 California Plumbing Code
(Building Standards adopted by the Commission for the 2007 California Plumbing Code (Part 5 of Title 24), Based on the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC).
2007 California Energy Code
(No changes were proposed for the 2007 California code (Part 6 of Title 24).
