Concord Receives National Award
2009 marks the the 28th year that Concord has been named a Tree City USA community by the National Arbor Day Foundation. The national award honors Concord's commitment to its community forest. Concord is also the recipient of a Tree City Growth Award for the eleventh year for demonstrating progress in its community forestry program.

Markham Nature Park and Arboretum
Located along Galindo Creek, Markham Nature Park and Arboretum is working toward the creation of an international garden to showcase plants from around the world that canthrive in our local micro-climate. Centerpiece of the garden is the Bud Hansen Wisteria Arbor.
