Camp Concord Employment

Make a World of Difference

Staff at Camp ConcordCamp Concord is located a few miles from the City of South Lake Tahoe at the base of Mount Tallac. With 29 acres of beautiful forests and quick access to the beaches of Lake Tahoe, Camp Concord is an ideal work setting. We utilize this pristine environment to offer a wide variety of traditional camp activities for our coed campers – youth, teen and families.  Camp Concord has been in continuous operation since 1967, serving 600 youth and teens and 200 families each summer. Our goal is to provide these youth, teen and families with the fun and exciting outdoor activities they desire, while offering opportunities for learning and personal growth.

Our greatest asset at Camp Concord is our hard working, knowledgeable staff. As role models for young campers, they create a healthy and safe community in which children can grow, learn and explore.  It takes a special person to work and be successful at Camp Concord; we look for energy, a strong work ethic and a passion for serving youth and families!  By acting as a strong role model, you can develop a campers’ ability to make the correct choices.  Your influence will inspire a child or teen to help him/her become a successful and productive human being.  The campers who are lucky enough to attend Camp Concord, absolutely love camp.  Many return year after year, eventually participating in our teen program and often becoming staff members.

Staff with CampersThe American Camp Association (ACA) shares our camp’s commitment to the growth of youth through the camp experience.   Research results confirmed that camp builds many of the skills necessary to prepare campers to assume roles as successful adults. Parents, campers, and camp staff independently reported growth in areas such as self-confidence, learning new skills, getting along with others, making friends, and making healthy decisions. Indeed, camp provides growth experiences for youth that can reap results through adulthood.

If you are selected to work at Camp Concord, we guarantee you will change a child’s life.  But more importantly, you will change your own.  This is an experience of a life-time and something any future employer or university will be proud to see!  By investing in our campers you will be investing in yourself, in a way no other employment or experience can provide.

What We're Looking For

Camp Concord is looking for responsible and caring leaders with the ability to bring their individual skills and positive attitudes to our summer staff family.  Camp Staff are role models for every camper, and the attributes of Safety, Acceptance, Achievement, Adventure, Growth and Friendship are reflected in everything we do. We hire men and women from all over the world to acquire the best staff and to ensure that our Camp Concord Mission is fulfilled.

Seasonal staff are selected for their leadership ability, strength of character, friendly personality, and love of working with youth and families. Each staff member is CPR and 1st Aid certified, and most of the staff are college students over the age of 20. Because of the strong applicant pool Camp Concord selects from, each staff member has demonstrated superior camping skills through work/educational experience, talent and/or motivation.

Hiring Procedures & Background Check

All staff are required to pass a rigorous selection process beginning with a mandatory application and multiple interviews by the Camp Director and/or the Leadership Team. If an applicant interviews successfully, a minimum of two references are contacted and verified. Finger printing and extensive background checks by the Department of Justice round out the hiring process insuring that the best qualified individuals are selected.
