Holidays

The city provides eleven (11) paid holidays per year to eligible employees.

Annual Vacation Leave AccrualVacation Benefits Icon

Our Employees earn vacation leave with an increase depending on years of service (up to 20+ years) and bargaining unit.

  • Unused hours can rollover to the next year, but cannot exceed two times the amount of the employee's current vacation accrual rate for non-managerial employees.
  • Employees can also elect to receive compensation, annually for a maximum of 40 hours of accrued vacation each year.

First Year of Service

Sick Leave

All employees receive 12 days of sick leave per year. 

Bereavement Leave

Most employees receive 4 days (in state) 5 days (out of state) of bereavementBereavement Leave Icon leave per year

  • Police Management Association (PMA) receives 3 days and Police Officer Association (POA) must use sick leave accrual.

Disability

When an illness or injury makes it impossible for you to work for anDisability Leave Icon extended period of time, your income may be continued under the City of Concord’s short term and long term disability plan.

Short Term Disability (not available for sworn personnel):

Under the STD plan, if you are disabled for longer than two (2) weeks, you may become eligible for salary protection on a weekly basis. 

Long Term Disability:

Under the plan, if you are disabled for more than 90 days, you could receive a percentage of your salary (up to a maximum dollar amount per month) until you are able to return to work. The City pays the entire cost of LTD coverage.
