SOLID WASTE MANAGMENT
The City of Concord has a Solid Waste Franchise Agreement with Mount Diablo Resource Recovery (MDRR). MDRR has exclusive responsibility for solid waste removal and disposal throughout the City of Concord. Hazardous Waste Disposal and Handling
Central Costa Sanitary District is a resource available to use by Concord residents who want to properly dispose of items that should not be disposed of in the trashcan or recycling bin.
Residents of concord may drop off household hazardous waste at no charge, with no appointment needed. Small businesses must schedule an appointment and pay a small fee to dispose of their hazardous waste.
Central San will help properly dispose of household hazardous waste. Here is a short list of some of the common hazardous household waste products they will take:
- Motor Oil
- Car Batteries
- Pesticides and Herbicides
- Pool Chemicals
- Aerosol Sprays
- Brake, transmission, and automotive fluids
- Liquid cleaners
- Shampoo, hair spray, and lotions

Mattresses are accepted at the Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery processing facility for a fee. The facility is located at 1300 Loveridge Facility in Pittsburg, CA.
