Youth Scholarship Program
The Concord Recreation Services Department is excited to offer partial scholarships for specific summer youth programs offered by the Department. The City is funding the program through funds received by the American Rescue Plan. Upon approval, scholarship recipients pay a nominal fee when registering for eligible programs.
The first review of applications will take place on May 15, 2023.
Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Applicant must be under 18 years of age.
- Applicant must be a Concord resident.
- Yearly family income is within the 2022 Family Income Limit – Contra Costa County eligibility chart.
- Submit a 2023 Youth Scholarship Application.
- Provide proof of Concord residency AND income.

HOW TO APPLY
Submit your Required Documents by mail or in person.

Required Documents
- 2023 Youth Scholarship Program Application
- Proof of Residency – Provide a copy of a current utility bill.
- Proof of Income– We cannot accept any other form of documentation than the options listed below:
- Provide a copy of a current year’s Letter of Award for one or more of the following programs:
- California’s Life Line Program
- Food Stamps (California Advantage or Cal-Fresh)
- Medicaid
- Medi-Cal
- Subsidized Housing HUD Section 8 Rent Subsidy
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
- CA State Unemployment Insurance Benefits (If both parents/guardians are unemployed)
- OR Provide a copy of a previous year’s tax return. Income limits set by the Housing and Urban Development in Contra Costa County below will determine eligibility.
- Provide a copy of a current year’s Letter of Award for one or more of the following programs:

Notification of Award
Applicant (parent) will be notified by email if application has met all minimum requirements. The Registration Office will then review the application and contact applicant with class/camp options. Registration will not be complete until payment of Discounted Fees has been made through the Registration Office.
