The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission is made up of five (5) adult members that serve four (4) year terms and two (2) youth members that serve one (1) year term. Members must be residents of Concord who hold no other municipal office in the City of Concord. The youth members are appointed by the adult members.
The Commission advises the City Council on matters related to public parks, open space, recreation, and youth; reviews and recommends Council action to develop, modify, and/or improve City parks; promotes recreation and park programs, assesses park and recreation needs, and recommends capital improvement projects and fees. The City's Conflict of Interest Code requires the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission members to disclose interests in investments, real property, and income derived within the City of Concord or from sources doing business within the City of Concord. Filings are required within 30 days of assuming office and on an annual basis.
