Services and Resources
The Concord Senior Center partners with several non-profit agencies, volunteers and other organizations to provide a variety of expanding services to meet the needs of the 50 & Better community.
If you don’t see a particular service, please call the Concord Senior Center to speak to the Care Manager, who may have additional resources.
Services include: AARP, Alzheimer’s Support, Café Costa, Care Manager Services, Medicare information and counseling, Home Match, Legal Assistance, Scholarships, Memory Screening, Notary, Peer Counseling, Hearing and Vision Support.
AARP DRIVER SAFETY
This course is normally taught on the 1st and 2nd Wednesday every other month from 9:00a.m. -1:00p.m. Cost for AARP members: $20; cost for non-members: $25. | |
ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT GROUP BY SENIOR HELPERS & ALZHEIMER FOUNDATION of AmericaAlzheimer's Caregiver Support Group: The 4th Wednesday of each month from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Call Jenny at Senior Helpers, an AFA CARES affiliate office at (925) 677-2150 for information, or, just show up. CONCORD CAFÉ COSTA AND CARE MANAGEMENT BY MEALS ON WHEELS DIABLO REGION (MOWDR)**All diners must wear a mask. You may remove the mask when eating.**In-Person Dining will be take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Concord Senior Center. Check-in: 11a.m. Lunch is served: 11:30a.m. Dining Room closes: 12:30p.m. Reservations are required, and must be made by 11:30a.m. the day before by calling (925) 825-1488. Go Go Concord (Formerly Get Around Taxi) Senior Transportation Program By Concord Commission on Aging
The Commission On Aging developed this program to supplement other national and count programs available to Concord seniors. For example, AARP Driver courses, County Connection routes, and CC LINK for paratransit services. This door to door option allows seniors to get transportation service at an affordable rate. Senior LEGAL ASSISTANCE by Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (CCSLS)Contra Costa Senior Legal Services is a private, non-profit agency that has been providing free legal services to seniors since 1976.CCSLS assists with legal matters such as housing, elder abuse, consumer protection, AHCD, SSI, Power of Attorney, and simple wills. Senior PEER COUNSELING by contra costa health servicesAs we get older, sometimes a little help means a lot. If you are 55 or older and facing challenges that are difficult to cope with alone, our Senior Peer Counseling program can help.Participants connect with fellow seniors who are trained to provide assistance and support with challenges such as depression, fear, loneliness, the loss of a loved one, health changes, or isolation. Senior Peer Counseling is available in English and Spanish. Services are free and confidential.
