Car Crime

Like many other cities in California, the City of Concord has experienced a dramatic increase in car crime. Just in the year 2004, there were over 1,000 cars stolen and over 2,000 cars broken into. The residents of Concord can help prevent these crimes and reduce the numbers of cars stolen and broken into each day.

Take Control & Protect Your Vehicle with LojackLo Jack

The patented LoJack System includes a small radio frequency transceiver hidden on your vehicle. Each LoJack System has a unique code that is tied into the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). When a theft is reported to the police, a routine entry into the state police crime computer results in a match of the LoJack System's unique code against the state VIN database. This automatically activates the LoJack System in your car, which emits an inaudible signal. Law enforcement authorities who are equipped with LoJack vehicle tracking units - in their police cruisers and aviation units - are always listening for a LoJack signal. Police use the LoJack vehicle tracking units in their patrol vehicles to track and recover your LoJack equipped vehicle.

This system is currently in place in most police agencies in Northern and Southern California, including Contra Costa County. Several vehicles have been recovered by the Concord Police Department as a result of this Lojack system. For more information on this product, please visit the LoJack website or contact the Concord Police Department Auto Theft Unit at 925-671-3030.
