Day Trips

Day Trips are travel programs that don't require an overnight stay. Payment must be made in full at the time of registration. Most of our travel programs feature roundtrip transportation for Day Trips from the Concord Senior Center will be provided on a luxury motor coach. The motor coach may be wheelchair-accessible and will feature a restroom on board. Please inform the Program Coordinator to confirm availability of wheelchair seating on any of our trips. Please plan to park in the East parking lot (2nd parking lot) at the Concord Senior Center.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Read the descriptions of the travel program. Determine if the mobility rating is appropriate for your physical fitness level and health.

  • Level 1: At a leisurely pace, this trip involves minimal physical activity, such as boarding a motor coach, light walking (only up to a few city blocks), and short periods of standing. This level would be wheelchair, cane, and walker accessible.
  • Level 2: This trip may require some periods of standing and light walking along stairs, inclines, and uneven surfaces. This trip would likely not be accessible for wheelchairs, canes, or walkers.
  • Level 3: This trip may require substantial periods of walking and standing, sometimes on uneven terrain or stairs. This trip would not be accessible for wheelchairs, canes, or walkers.

3 Ways to Register for Day Trips:

  1. Online: Click on the TITLE of the trip you'd like to attend to register. You will need to create an account on our registration site if you do not already have one.
  2. By Phone (M-F, 10am-12pm & 1-3pm): Call the Registration Office at 925-671-3404.
  3. In Person: Visit any one of our community centers to register and pay in person:
    • Concord Senior Citizens Center (M-F, 9am-4pm)
    • Centre Concord (M-F, 10am-12pm & 1-3pm)
    • Willow Pass Center (M-F, 10am-12pm & 1-3pm)

SOLD OUT & WAITLIST

If a trip is sold out, a waitlist will be formed. If there’s a cancellation, Senior Center staff will contact interested travelers on the waitlist with more information.

TRIP MINIMUMS

Trips may need to be canceled up to 30 days in advance if minimums are not met. Help us spread the word about upcoming trips to avoid potential cancellations.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

As a result of the passenger minimums, refunds will not be permitted within 30 days of a day trip. Refunds must be requested at least 30 days before a trip departure date. Refunds will be subject to a $5 cancellation fee. Trips are rain or shine.

Take a tour of the Apple Hill farms in Placerville! Take the winding country road to explore all of the beautiful scenery across the hillsides.

The San Francisco Belle is a landmark that evokes the city's turn-of-the-century Barbary Coast "vibes". The 292 foot sternwheeler features Art Nouveau style on all three enclosed levels, plus a spacious sun deck and three full wrap-around decks. There is no better vantage point to see the Fleet Week Air Show than from directly under the planes -- sailing on the iconic S.F. Belle! Indulge in a hosted buffet lunch with assorted desserts, as you sip on free-flowing champagne and enjoy the tunes from the on board D.J.

This Holiday event is always highly anticipated by our group! Board your luxury Motorcoach at the Concord Senior Center, where you'll be making a special excursion into San Francisco, at night! Start by pulling up to the Ferry Building, where you will have a quick look at the whimsical decorations and pickup your tour guide, Craig Smith. Craig is a San Francisco historian, who has been living in San Francisco and guiding tours since he was a teenager. His vast knowledge of the city will take you to all the most unique places, while you listen to the best tidbits of city facts, as you drive by beautiful landmarks, and even visit some of them.

Your dinner will be held at Swiss Louis, at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. After dinner you will be dazzled by more holiday lights and decorations that the City by the Bay has to offer; Including Ghirardelli Square, downtown San Francisco, California Street, and so much more! A great way to start your holiday season!

Level 2: There will be walking for approximately 20 minutes at a time, at about 2-3 stops, on paved flat surfaces. Dinner will be seated.

Tour includes: Luxury Motorcoach, Driver Gratuity, Private Tour Guide Craig Smith, Tour of St. Dominic's Catholic Church featuring the Shrine of St. Jude, Tour and Educational talk at Swedenborgian Church a non-denominational church that many famous writers are members of with Nordic style architecture, Lunch at the Presidio Café w/ dessert, soft drink, and choice of entrée Chicken Cobb, Burger, or ½ Club Sandwich, Tour of St. Peter & Paul Church located in North Beach with rich Italian history, ending your day with a tour of Grace Cathedral home of spectacular stained glass and museum style exhibits.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS GAME: SUNDAY, APRIL 7TH, 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Chase Center

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS UTAH JAZZ GAME

Join us on a fun outing to see the Golden State Warriors play the Utah Jazz at the Chase Center. Seating is located in the Bridge Section - Great seats right behind HOME basket! This section has more leg room, table in front of you & pull-out chair. They are close to restrooms, with a concession stand/bar directly behind the seats. You will arrive by 4pm to the Chase Center, you will have 1 hour & 30 minutes to get settled, game begins at 5:30pm. There are many other food options at the Chase Center, including: Sam's Chowder House, Sadie's Deli, Bake sale Betty, Big Nate's BBQ, & MORE!

Walking Level 2: Medium - Bus will drop off directly outside of the Chase Center, you will have to walk from drop-off to security gate, and then to your seats, but the Center has many elevators and escalators for use. All bags are subject to search.

Price includes: Bridge section group seating, luxury Motorcoach transportation from the Concord Senior Center, and driver gratuity.

EXTENDED TRAVEL

Extended Travel programs require overnight stays while traveling domestically or internationally. A booklet may be picked up at the Concord Senior Center with registration details and full itineraries for each destination.
