The Senior Center is coordinating wellness calls with our partners the Concord Senior Citizens Club, and CC-Café during the shelter in place. “We’ve been calling each member and updating their information, asking how they are doing and if they need any assistance,” Kelly Madge, Club president. The club has over 1200 members will continue to stay connected with their members and provide resources to those in need. Concord CCCafé staff has been following up with their participants to see if they need meals.
Center staff has over a hundred seniors and volunteers on our welfare call list. We contact them via email or a phone call and directing them to services if needed. We check in with them at least week and seniors appreciate the friendly outreach from staff.
As we continue to remain at home to be safe and healthy, we encourage seniors to have some daily interaction to prevent the blues and depression. Stay connected with family and friends. Get into a routine and exercise, take walks and remember social distancing. If you know of someone who may require assistance please contact the local resources below.
