Contra Costa County first responders will be at Buchanan Field Airport in Concord October 7-11 for live fire training exercises including a plane fire simulation.
Crews with the Contra Costa County Airports Aircraft Rescue Firefighters, the Fire Protection District, the Sheriff's Office, the Office of Emergency Services and other mutual aid agencies will participate in the drills Monday through Friday.
"First responders have got to be prepared and get as close to real life as they can get," said Contra Costa County Director of Airports Keith Freitas.
The drills will take place on the west side of the Buchanan Field near Marsh Drive and Center Ave. Smoke and flames will be visible. Please DO NOT CALL 911 to report it.
