On Thursday, October 13, the Council Committee on Housing and Economic Development (HED) will be discussing the formation of a working group to assist with the creation and oversight of the City’s Homeless Strategic Plan.
A resident survey conducted in January cited homelessness as an area of concern for many Concord residents. The City has set aside $5.4 million in one-time funds to be put toward plans established in the Homeless Strategic Plan.
One step in the effort of developing a Homeless Strategic Plan is for the City to define the makeup and the method for selecting a Working Group which will be tasked with overseeing the development of the Strategic Plan and offering diverse perspectives on issues concerning it.
HED will discuss this topic at their October 13 meeting and their recommendations will be forwarded to the full Council for consideration at a future date.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Garden conference room located in Wing A at City Hall, 1950 Parkside Drive. The Council agenda, staff report, and other documents will be available on the City’s website.
