[ARCHIVED] Welcome to Permit Pal- New Online Tools for the Permit Center

Permit Pal

Every Monday through Friday, the Permit Center at Concord’s City Hall is visited by dozens of residents and business people who are at various stages of residential or commercial building projects. Whether you’re a homeowner looking to make changes to your home, or someone that wants to start your own Concord business, you contact the Permit Center for answers about zoning, fees and permits. The City’s knowledgeable staff work with each individual to discuss their ideas, review plans and get answers to their questions. The Permit Center is a one-stop shop for information.

In an effort to make this information available 24-hours a day at a customer’s fingertips, Concord has recently implemented a smart and interactive online permit tool called Permit Pal.

Permit Pal, which officially launched on Monday, August 19, allows anyone with access to the City of Concord website to obtain information on zoning, residential and business permit requirements and fees. The goal is to provide customers an alternative to contacting the Permit Center in person, via phone, or via email, and provide information to facilitate more efficient interactions with City staff as projects progress through the process.

What does Permit Pal do?

  • Calculates the permit and license fees needed to open or expand a business
  • Helps customers determine what permits will be needed for their residential projects
  • Prompts a series of questions and allows users to use maps and calculators to determine the feasibility of projects
  • Simplifies the site selection process and shows people where projects are permitted

Concord’s Community & Economic Development department is proud and excited to offer this new tool, which will streamline the initial information-gathering process and save our customers time.

Permit Pal can now be found at https://permitpal.cityofconcord.org/ on the City’s website and is already assisting customers by providing access to information to help guide their decision making.
